Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman from the United States. She currently holds the position of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the National Basketball Association's controlling owners. Buss, who is born in California was born into an exceptionally wealthy family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was an estate tycoon, and later the owner of Lakers and other enterprises. When her parents split in 1972 and she started to feel as if she was abandoned. In the year 19 she became the General Manager of Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis club. Later she created her own Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum, before being elected Vice president of the Lakers. Her father passed away in 2013 and his controlling ownership of the Lakers was passed on to Buss as well as her siblings by a trust of the family that gave each sibling equal voting rights. She assumed her duties as the president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also partner in the ownership of Women of Wrestling (a Los Angeles-based pro-wrestling association).
